Great study tool "on the go" and a great value!

I have no idea why some reviewers think this great study tool only rates one star - I flat out disagree.

Parallel study, verses are linked with fully synchronized scrolling, imbedded language study on a verse by verse basis, dozens of commentaries and dictionaries (again, all linked by verse), detailed search capabilities, personal tags, separate study notes - the list goes on and on. How many more goodies can I list before you realize that a one star rating is completely out of touch with the features included.

No, the developers do not spend their lives doing this for free and yup, as odd as it may sound they actually try to make a living by writing and selling this application. By the way - Thomas Nelson publishers own the rights to the NIV version of the bible and they do not give it away for free so yes, Laridian, Olive Tree, Biblesoft, Logos - they all charge for it.

So Laridian provides a free reader with a minor $6 charge for the advanced reader and they offer dozens of very low cost additional study works - this app is a great deal.

Final thought - I have used this app for 8 years beginning with a PDA version, then a Palm Treo version, now an iPad version. Guess what - the Laridian licensing model has let me transition all of my books from platform to platform AT NO ADDITIONAL COST.

Thats a tremendously valuable licensing model.
